The
Machine Shop is a plant for component and subassembly processing, working
as a part of ”Zastava automobili” a.d.
All the mechanical assemblies for ZASTAVA vehicles used to be
manufactured in this plant, except for the engines. The assumed volume of
production of the plant is 200.000 cars/year.
About 80 % of the equipment in the plant was made in western countries,
notably Germany, Italy, USA,
Switzerland,
etc.
MANUFACTURING
PROGRAM
-
Gearbox (IV and V level) of original FIAT construction with a differential
and main reduction pair, for the transversally set engine with
front-wheel drive, gear ratio being up to 16 daNm, with Borg Warner or
Porsche synchronization. Complete production of all gearbox elements –
the box, gears, toothed shafts, synchronization elements, elements for
elements for activating the cogwheel, complete differential is done in
the Machine Shop.
- Transmission – axle-shafts and
three-pin cross,
- Front suspension assembly
according to McPherson example – Swinging arm of Lemforder and Ehrenreich
type, hub and wheel carrier.
- Rear suspension assembly,
independent and H suspension-axle spindle, hub with bearing and swinging
arm.
- Brakes – front wheel brake
discs-chuck according to Girling system and drum of rear wheel brakes –
drum and brake shoes.
- Gear lever and system of
commands – brake, coupling, accelerator.

spur gears (final processing done by shaving).

real teeth.

- Heat treatment.
- Assembly of mechanical
assemblies.
- Bid for
the Machine Shop equipment will be conducted according to the following
equipment groups , in other words following production lines :
